To start your driving lessons you will need to have a UK Provisional Driving Licence. 

To apply for your first UK Provisional Driving Licence you must be at least 15 years and 9 months of age, and 17 before starting lessons.

A UK provisional driving licence is valid for 10 years. If you do not pass your driving test within this period, you will need to renew your provisional licence. To renew a provisional driving licence visit www.gov.uk/renew-driving-licence. The online cost is currently £14.
