I've been with NoGears for over 5 years and in that time have had as many pupils as I can handle. The franchise fee is reasonable and I thInk I am getting very good value in return".

The Automatic Market

Technology driven society

Over the last 20 years or so we have become a "technology driven" society using new technology to help improve our lives by doing things faster and making life easier.

There is now much less resistance to owning and driving an automatic car, and an understanding that it's not only easier to learn to drive in an automatic, but also that it is generally more suitable for modern road traffic conditions.
Automatic market growth
The move away from Manual cars has been decisive, with more smaller entry level cars now offering Automatic transmission.

In 2016, 30% of all new cars sold in the UK were Automtaic

In 2021, 50% of all new cars sold in the UK were Automatic

Since 2019, the number of automatic-only learner drivers has risen by 25%, with three in ten leaners now wanting to start lessons in an Automatic car.

Despite this increase in popularity, a report completed by a leading vehicle insurer, reports that nationally only 8% of driving instructors teach in an automatic. Demand for Automatic lessons therefore continues to significantly outstrip supply.

UK Government Policy

The UK Governments transformative legislation to ban the sale of new Petrol and Diesel cars from 2030, and the sale of Petrol and Diesel Hybrid cars from 2035, will force manufacturers to sell more Hybrid and Electric cars, all of which utilise an automatic transmission.

"I've been with Nogears for over 5 years and in that time have had as many pupils as I can handle. The franchise fee is reasonable, and I think I am getting good value in return. There's a family atmosphere with Nogears, where I feel like I am part of a team. Always friendly and supportive, I can honestly say that I couldn't have asked for more from a franchise".
