John has been an ADI since 1998 and joined No Gears in December 2012. He worked for BSM for many years before joining What Car as an ADI trainer and defensive driving trainer for large accounts. He had previously had a franchise with Safedrive but thought that it represented poor value and decided to look for a new opportunity.
It's an honest franchise and has exceeded expectations. I have been supported with a loan car, with as many customers as I can deal with and more, and through a worrying period of illness. I have been surprised with the quality of customers supplied. It's a business relationship that feels more like a friendship. I value honesty and reliability highly in a franchise and find that in No Gears. I have not seen that elsewhere.
The customers are very different people. They are older, better educated and mostly very interesting and pleasant people to work with. Customers stay with you for longer and are more reliable mostly.
I can concentrate on the aspects of my business that I enjoy most, teaching. Knowing that I can rely on No Gears to keep my diary full. I regard No Gears as the best franchise I have knowledge of by far. I have confidence in the company and like its style. No Gears do what they say they will do, it's a franchise run by instructors for instructors and its that inside knowledge and empathy which makes it work. Very well.
